If you’re taking a trip to coastal Georgia, you’re going to need an itinerary. With an abundance of historic monuments and the ocean being nearby, there is going to be plenty for you and everyone you’re traveling with to stay busy.

Watermelon Creek Vineyard

If you’re a wine-lover in coastal Georgia, taking a group tour of Watermelon Creek Vineyard is sure to delight you and your tastebuds. You can combine wine tastings, a meal, and a tour for an afternoon getaway, or you can participate in one thing for a short trip out.

Deposits are required for each group, and an 8 percent sales tax is going to be added to your tour. You won’t have to worry about parking here, though! They have spots available for guests.

Prepare in advance, though, and have your final headcount ready to go at least 10 days before you arrive.

Georgia Peach World

Georgia Peach World is one of the best things to do in Townsend, Georgia. Here you’ll find fresh market produce and you’ll have access to genuine Georgia peach cider and even jelly beans!

From there, you’ll be able to venture out to all the restaurants in Townsend.

Fort Frederica National Monument

If you’re a nature lover, Fort Frederica National Monument is a must-see for you. You can plan your visit ahead of time, or you can take a day trip and spend time exploring the 18th century land of conflict between Spain and Britain.

World War II Home Front

If you’re interested in learning more about the history of World War II and the role that the United States played in it, the World War II Home Front Museum is the perfect stop for you.

You can hear from historical figures from the time or even learn how to create small Brunswick ships from scratch. The possibilities here are endless, which means fun for everyone!

St. Simons

This quaint area of the coast has something for everyone — especially if you enjoy museums.

The St. Simons Lighthouse Museum is the perfect place to picture your life in the 1900s (be sure to stop by the lighthouse keeper’s quarters).

If you’re more interested in the great outdoors, visiting Cannon’s Point Reserve is the perfect place to see the Altamaha River delta and plenty of teeming wildlife throughout the area!

Tybee Island

This barrier island has been a popular vacation spot since the late 1800s. Home to clean beaches and southern hospitality, Tybee Island is the perfect place to escape for a weekend getaway.

You can go kayaking in the coastal waters or watch for dolphins from the shore. There are even sunset cruises, fishing charters, and dolphin tours to enjoy!
